Our services

Evidence-based care, explained in plain language.

ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis — a science of learning that uses positive reinforcement to build meaningful skills and reduce barriers. A BCBA is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst: a graduate-trained clinician who designs and supervises each plan. Here is what that looks like at DTS.

One-to-One ABA Therapy

For autistic children & teens · home, center or school

Direct, play-based sessions that teach communication, daily-living, social and coping skills one small step at a time. Sessions are led by trained behavior technicians and supervised by your BCBA, who reviews progress data every week and adjusts the plan.

What to expect
  • Goals chosen with your family — things that matter at home and school, not just in a clinic.
  • Natural-environment teaching: learning built into play, routines and real activities.
  • Weekly data you can actually read, with regular parent check-ins.

Assessment & Treatment Planning

First step for new families · ages 18 months to adult

Every plan starts with understanding. Your BCBA completes a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) — a structured look at why a behavior happens — plus standardized skills assessments, then writes an individualized treatment plan with measurable goals.

What to expect
  • Interviews, observation and play-based testing over one to three visits.
  • A written plan you review and approve before therapy begins.
  • Re-assessment every six months to keep goals current.

Early Intervention

Toddlers & preschoolers · roughly 18 months to 5 years

The earliest years are when the brain learns fastest. Our early-intervention program focuses on first words and requests, joint attention, imitation, play and pre-school readiness — always through warm, play-based teaching with caregivers closely involved.

What to expect
  • Short, frequent sessions matched to a young child's attention span.
  • Heavy caregiver involvement so gains carry into everyday routines.
  • Coordination with speech and occupational therapists when helpful.

Parent & Caregiver Training

Parents, grandparents, nannies & siblings

You are with your child far more than any therapist. Caregiver coaching teaches practical strategies — reinforcement, visual schedules, handling meltdowns, building routines — so the whole household feels calmer and progress keeps going between sessions.

What to expect
  • Structured 1:1 sessions, in person or by video, on topics you choose.
  • Real-time coaching during everyday moments like mealtimes and bedtime.
  • Simple take-home tools — no jargon, no homework overload.

Social Skills Groups

School-age children & teens · small groups of 3–6

Friendship is a skill set. Small, facilitated groups practice conversation, turn-taking, reading social cues, handling disagreements and joining in — through games and real-life scenarios, with support that fades as confidence grows.

What to expect
  • Groups matched by age and goals, running in 8–12-week blocks.
  • Individual targets tracked for each participant.
  • Parent summaries after each session with ideas to practice at home.

School Consultation & IEP Support

Families and schools · preschool through high school

We partner with teachers and school teams so strategies stay consistent across settings. Your BCBA can observe in the classroom, help design behavior support plans and attend IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings to translate clinical goals into school accommodations.

What to expect
  • Classroom observation and teacher-friendly recommendations.
  • Help preparing for, and attending, IEP or 504 meetings.
  • Staff training on request.

Counseling & Mental-Health Support

Teens, adults & caregivers

Autism and caregiving both come with real emotional weight. Our mental-health clinicians offer individual and family counseling for anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions and self-understanding — including neurodiversity-affirming therapy for autistic teens and adults.

What to expect
  • 50-minute sessions, weekly or biweekly, in person or online.
  • Approaches such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), adapted to how you think and communicate.
  • Caregiver support groups and one-off "reset" sessions available.

Telehealth Services

Anyone who prefers care from home

Consultations, caregiver coaching, BCBA supervision and counseling all work beautifully over secure video. Telehealth removes travel time and lets us see your real environment — the kitchen table, the bedtime routine — which often makes coaching more effective.

What to expect
  • A private Google Meet link sent with every booking.
  • Works on a phone, tablet or computer — nothing to install.
  • Hybrid schedules that mix in-person and online visits.

About DTS

Clinical rigor with a human face.

Doctor Therapy Services was founded on a simple idea: the best outcomes happen when science-backed therapy is delivered with warmth, respect and genuine partnership with families.

  • Neurodiversity-affirming: we build skills that improve a person's life on their own terms, and we listen when someone says no.
  • Data-driven: every goal is measured, reviewed and adjusted — and shared with you in plain language.
  • Whole-family: caregiver wellbeing is part of the plan, not an afterthought.
  • Collaborative: we coordinate with schools, pediatricians, speech and occupational therapists.
Questions

Frequently asked questions

What happens during the free consultation?
A 30-minute video call with a clinician. We'll ask about your goals and concerns, explain how our services work, discuss scheduling and payment options, and suggest a sensible next step. There is no obligation to continue.
Is ABA therapy right for my child?
ABA is the most researched intervention for autism, and modern ABA is play-based, positive and individualized. Whether it's the right fit depends on your child's needs and your family's goals — that's exactly what the consultation is for. We will also tell you when a different service (speech therapy, counseling, OT) might serve you better.
Do I need a diagnosis or a referral first?
Not for a consultation. For ongoing ABA therapy, most insurers require an autism diagnosis; we can guide you through the evaluation process if you don't have one yet.
Do you accept insurance?
Coverage varies by plan and state. Bring your insurance details to the consultation and we'll walk through what is covered and what private-pay options look like.
Where do sessions take place?
Depending on the service: in your home, at school, in our center or over secure telehealth. Many families use a mix.
How do I reschedule or cancel?
Simply reply to your confirmation email and we'll move your appointment. Please give us 24 hours' notice when you can.
